We have all heard the term Trojan Horse, just what incisively is it? A Trojan Horse is a destructive program that masquerades as a innocuous application. Unlike viruses, Trojan Horses don’t reduplicate themselves, but they can be just as damaging. One of the most dangerous examples of a Trojan is a program that promises to free your computer of viruses but instead introduces viruses into your computer.

Think of a Spy ware Key logger as a small drop of battery acid. These slivers of viruses are downloaded into your hard drive, but will not be noticed right away. It will take time for these key loggers to eat their way into your personal information, then report it back to whomever started this cycle. Allowing the availability of important private information contained on the computer that you were certain was secure.

Computer virus was something that was unknown and undefined until 1983 when Fred Cohen actually defined malicious programs as programs that can infect computers and modify them, harming the data stored in the computer. He termed these programs as computer virus, and also explained that these programs can spread throughout the computer systems, through the internet to infect other computers. As the program keeps duplicating itself in each and every system, the infection grows.

There are so many great things about the internet you know that there is going to be problems. And there are! Identity theft, fraud, and maybe the largest most problematic is the epidemic of computer viruses that are wreaking havoc. These viruses are different scripts (if you can call them that) written for purposes of destruction. It is the classic “minority of trouble makers ruining it for the vast majority of the rest of us.” So what sorts of viruses do we worry about and get anti virus programs for.
